I write about fashion, mainly about contemporary fashion from Africa. My work is driven by a simple conviction: these brilliant designers and cultural pioneers deserve global recognition and I believe that the wider industry has much to learn from them.

As a style anthropologist, I view personal style as a lived practice; a daily, conscious decision and a visual expression of identity, values, and beliefs. Bridging the gap between theory and the real world, I analyze and document shifting style dynamics, conducting field research and publishing insights on the trends emerging across both the Netherlands and the African continent.

My articles are published in Marie Claire (NL), Elle (NL), Kostuumvereniging Bulletin, Maison Amsterdam (by de Nieuwe Kerk Museum), Afro Sport (by Mama Wata) and on Fashion United, Dazed (UK), Vice (NL), iD (UK).
