BIO
Carmen Hogg (MSc.) is a cultural consultant, (copy) writer and style anthropologist. She’s active at the intersection of culture and fashion and helps organisations make sense to non-mainstream communities and subcultures on the basis of qualitative research and her deep immersion in these communities. Her work combines storytelling, strategic insight, and cultural understanding to help brands, institutions, and cultural organisations shape their narratives and brand positioning. Additionally, she provides clients access to her extensive network of creative professionals for the execution of related projects.
She is also a connoisseur of contemporary African fashion, dedicated to exploring and showcasing the continent’s vibrant, innovative, and diverse fashion scenes while building bridges between African designers and international audiences. She provides insights and analyses to organizations interested in these markets, writes and lectures on African fashion, and offers emerging African designers a foothold in Europe through Showroom—a cultural agency and shop she co-founded with Coco Olakunle.
In 2025 she launched BUTTER, an offline network of Africa-based fashion professionals, bridging connections with Europe-based creatives, curators, and programmers.
